Platelet Rich Plasma (Prp)
The Vampire Facial
A Vampire Facial is a treatment that harnesses the power of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) combined with micro needling to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the skin. This non-surgical treatment accelerates the skin's natural healing processes, acting to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and improve overall skin texture and tone.
Ideal for those looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, and other skin concerns, the Vampire Facial may not be suitable for everyone. It is not recommended for individuals with rosacea, certain skin conditions, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
This organic treatment is also highly effective for improving the look of scars and stretch marks, not just on the face, but anywhere on the body.
What Is The Difference Between Standard Needling Vs PRP Micro Needling?
Adding PRP to your micro needling treatment, you may reap the benefits of tighter, smoother skin even faster than with micro needling alone. Since your skin is full of tiny puncture wounds immediately following a treatment, it is the optimal time to apply PRP to your skin's surface.
The platelet-rich plasma easily absorbs into the deeper layers of tissue, giving collagen production a boost. If you are bothered by the signs of aging or simply just want to maintain your youthful skin appearance but you have been reluctant to try cosmetic injections or laser therapies, consider the many benefits and ease of Vampire Facial Treatment.
How Does Prp Facial Work?
Because PRP facial uses your own natural elements, there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection. PRP facial is a very safe procedure using your own blood to significantly improve skin quality. Expected side effects include those expected with any injection treatment, and these include redness, mild discomfort, bruising and minimal swelling.
All the staff at The Lime Tree Clinic are expertly trained in all the steps of the PRP facial treatment, from blood collection and preparation through to the administration of the PRP to your skin. All our medical equipment and procedures are thoroughly monitored.
While there is always some level of risk with any skin procedure, significant side effects associated with PRP facials are very rare. Our qualified cosmetic practitioner will discuss all of the possible risk with you before your treatment is administered.

What Are The Treatment Areas Of Prp
Facial?
PRP Facial is specifically used to treat, but not limited to the following;
* Crow's feet
* Dark circles around the eyes
* Loose wrinkle skin on the neck and décolletage
* Acne scars
* Fine lines around the mouth
* Overall facial skin rejuvenation
What Is The Procedure Of Prp Facial Treatment?
PRP facial is a skin rejuvenating procedure that takes between 45 minutes to 60 minutes, though treatment time varies depending on the number of areas to be treated.
The procedure commences with the collection of your blood from your arm, in the same way you would have a blood test and the target treatment area is thoroughly cleansed.
Then the drawn blood is placed in a medical-grade centrifuge for a specific customised protocol. This equipment spins at a controlled rate to separate the liquid concentrated plasma from the red and white blood cells.
Our qualified skin therapist will then carefully micro-needle the activated PRP into the target areas of your face. During the treatment, you may feel a tingling sensation like the sting of an ant for a few seconds.
Numbing cream can be used prior to treatment if you have a low tolerance to discomfort.
Prp Facial After Care
The most common effects experienced after the PRP facial treatment is redness, slight swelling and sometimes a small amount of bruising. Redness and swelling will resolve within a day, however bruising can take 1-2 weeks to fully resolve. You can apply cold gel packs to reduce swelling or bruising.
Given that the treatment has minimal downtime, you can go back to your regular activities after your clinic appointment and light make-up can be applied after 24 hours of the treatment. It is also advisable that you apply sunscreen when outdoors, but ideally please avoid excessive exposure to sunlight.
When Can I See The Treatment Results And How Long Will It Last For?
PRP stimulates your body to produce its own natural collagen and improve skin repair, so the initial results may appear subtle. After 1 or 2 months, you should see rejuvenated skin that appears younger, softer and more supple as the skin has been repaired and stimulated.
Results last for 6 months or much longer and varies between individuals, depending on different factors such as general health, age, diet, smoking and skin type.For best results, a PRP facial at our Perth clinic is performed once per month for 3 months initially, followed by 2-3 maintenance treatments per year.
